During the ten years I was interested in writing drama, I had eight plays produced on radio and on stage, but I was always more interested in writing prose. I've had two novels published by three publishers, but I have eight unpublished novels. All ten books are now available on Kindle. This blog was set up to give me an internet presence and help to promote these ebooks. So I'm a writer and playwright who lives in Edinburgh.

Not a cheep out the them yet!
There was no response from anyone today from the six emails I sent last evening. This is not a surprise!! Some time ago I was trying to get an agent for two books I'd written for ten to fourteen year olds. Despite having two adult books published, having eight plays produced, being a school librarian, and having an awful lot of glowing questionnaires, I managed to get one person to read one of the books in ........ two years of trying!!
The two books I got published were published because I knew people. C'est la vie!
Emails tonight to:
Sarah Ballard at United Agents
Christopher Little
Wylie Agency
Euan Thorneycroft at AM Heath

Andrew Lowrie
The photie is from the Sikkim trip from this Spring. No, I still cannot get photies off my phone onto this blog. Bugger the machines!!
I just got a response from Andrew Lowrie. That took less than fifteen minutes!! Says a colleague dealing with fiction will get back to me. So, hurrah for them.

ReplyDeleteWhen your phone is connected to your WiFi (you know how to do that, surely?) go on your phone to www.ssavr.com (you know how to do that, surely?) and tap Upload (you know how to do that, surely?). Tap on Drop Files Here or Click to Upload, and select the photos (by going to photos, or if that isn't obvious, via Documents). Now put your phone down and with your computer, go to www.ssavr.com and click on Download, and select the photos you previously uploaded via your phone. Then the photos will be on your computer. Which part of this process can't you do?
By you can also email a photo to yourself, or use a cable to download in bulk.

Okay, so I assume you have to download this ssavr.com to your phone? Before on the horrible windows 8 you just .... anyway, who owns SSAVR? Is this another corporate stitch up to fleece us old folk?
ReplyDeleteI have googled ssavr and you get a page with almost nothing on it. What a glorious chance to waste another hour of my life on the war against the machines? Why don't these things just work?
ReplyDeleteJust tried it from the phone!! When you go to get the photies everything disappears!! Go to the photies and you've lost the webpage. What a pile of total crap all this computery business is!! Wish we could go back to simple cameras and then I'd occasionally actually have a photie I wanted. Now I can stick lots of photies on the computer and someday the hard drive, the cloud (which is in buildings around some ring road) will die and you'll be left with bugger all!! You have to be on the spectrum like Albert to enjoy these rinky dinky piles of ordure!

ReplyDeleteYou are making things FAR more complicated than they need to be. You don't need to download an App. If you'd needed to download an App I would have said that you need to download an App. Go to ssavr.com on your phone and click on 'Drop files' then choose an action (try Documents). Select the photo. Now put your phone down and on your computer go to ssavr.com Click Download - and there is your photo. Click the Download arrow and open it, then save to wherever you want. It could hardly be simpler. Even the simple-minded can manage to do this. Takes 10 seconds. I just did it on mine. People who can't do this are too simple-minded to be allowed to vote! If someone can't follow such easy to understand processes, then how can they be expected to understand even the basics of politics? Deary, deary me.

I've known goldfish with a higher IQ. No wonder the nationalists can con people into voting for them.

ReplyDeleteFor those folk with less computer skills than a goldfish, by "(try Documents). Select the photo." I mean - tap the small picture of the photo you want. Then immediately put your phone down, and follow the other instructions above.
Do NOT try to understand how the process works. If it takes you ten hours to do something that should take 10 seconds, it will take you ten lifetimes to understand how the process works.

I know why it doesn't work for you. After you tap the photo on your phone and then put the phone down, and before opening www.ssavr.com on your computer, you have to whisper the magic words..."I am a No voter".
