No bites yet!!

I only got one response from the last group of five emails and that was from James Gill of United Agents. I thought maybe they'd have a policy of checking emails so I sent another two out to United Artists. No, three: Jon Elek, Jodie Hodges and Robert Kirby. Also, one to Darley Anderson and Doreen Montgomery. Might be an idea to list all the folk I've sent emails to so far.
Jeffrey Simmons
Malcolm Imrie
Jonathan Pegg
Jenny Brown
Sarah Ballard
Euan Thorneycroft
Andrew Lownie
James Gill
Laura McNeill
Zoe Waldie
Araminta Whitney
Susan Smith.

The only stuff outstanding is the Ecuador book which is with Angus MacDonald still. I've managed to illicit negative responses from David Haviland, James Gill and I'm still waiting on Angus.

At least, one in five emails seems to be getting read, so it's probably worth continuing with this emailing stuff.

The photie is of me at the Zen Mountain Monastery in the Catskills last spring. Seems like an awful long time ago now!

Just checked my emails. Seems Uuited Agents have gone on holiday already! So I sent another one to
Charlotte Howard.

More agent emails!

Two months ago I started sending out emails for the thriller. Before that I spent three months waiting for news from a New York agent to get back to me. At least I think I did actually send the Ecuador book to them. I thought I'd sent the thriller to David Haviland and spent six weeks waiting for him to get back to me only to discover that I hadn't sent that to him! Anyway, when I did sent it to him, he rejected it straightaway.

Angus MacDonald is still looking at the Ecuador book, I think.

So today I have sent off five more emails. I really don't enjoy doing this stuff. Hustling your wonderful writings is always disappointing. And I don't need the money right now, but I did promise one of two folk that I'd try to make some and I think the books are okay, so ....

The photie was taken in Central Park at the start of spring in 2015. Seems like an awful long time ago.

Writing Plans

At last, I am about to start writing again! This is good. I haven't written anything since March.

So I read the problem section of two drafts of Jock Tamson's, and I know what I need to do there. I don't think it would take me too long either. So I guess I should start with that.

Very pleased with what I read of Cold Killing. It's a couple of years since I had a look at that and I was surprised at how much of it there was. About seventy five pages. Not all of them all that good, but it's something I could be working on for a year or so.

I will start writing again. Just thinking about it has really cheered me up.

The random photie has an advert for a mule ambulance on it, I think.

No news is no news

Perhaps one should let sleeping dogs ..... trying to upload recent photies onto this laptop has become even more difficult than before. Now this pile of annoying stuff refuses to recognise even the existence of the phone.

Anyway, it's six weeks since I sent out Remote Control and the Ecuador book. Whenever I've had something accepted by anyone, it's always happened almost right away, but if I can start hustling agents again soon, that'll make me feel as if I'm working.

In the last six weeks I haven't written a word. I'd like to start tonight. The play. The problem is that I'm trying to stick the bits from the "radio" version into the stage version and ... well, it's just a hassle having all these drafts to look at: one on the screen and two printed. What kind of writing is that?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure to start this week since I've cut out the visit to Kathy this Thursday to clear some space. My meditations are going brilliantly. That's the main thing these days.

Next day: David Haviland got back to me first thing this morning. They seem dead efficient. I do not seem so efficient since it seems that I did not send him the book in the first place!! One of the many reasons that I need an agent!!
